Hardware Technician

Location: Harrisonburg, Virginia

Organization: RecRe, Inc.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

This position is expected to work 30-40 hours/week, Monday-Friday between 9:00am – 5:00pm.  Exact schedule can be discussed with Supervisor at time of hire.

Activation Specialist Duties & Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the deployment, installation, training, and logistics of RecRe for designated customers. This is a hands-on role focused on hardware handling, basic technical setup, and field support. No prior hardware experience is required. Training is provided. This role is well suited for someone early in their career who enjoys physical work, travel, and learning technical systems in real-world environments. Extensive travel is required.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory management of hardware and components
  • Assist in unloading delivery trucks carrying pallets and cases of materials with each case weighing up to 400 pounds
  • Assist with delivering, picking up and moving RecRe boxes and associated equipment/inventory to clients.
  • Perform basic hardware setup under guidance, including cable routing and component installation
  • Assist with packing, palletizing, and return logistics after deployments
  • Conduct visual inspections and basic functional checks
  • Document inventory usage and deployment status
  • Work closely with the Hardware team during deployments
  • Maintain good relations with all client personnel
  • Frequent overnight travel will be required
  • Other duties assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Comprehensive background check will be required
  • Have no criminal convictions that would disqualify you from working on a university campus based on partner policies
  • Basic computer skills required; Experience with Microsoft Office, Asana and Google preferred.
  • Experience and interest in hardware development
  • Experience with customer service
  • Experience with system wiring and/or electronics
  • Desire for frequent travel
  • Experience with travel logistics: booking hotels, flights, etc.
  • High attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Innovative approach to problems
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Technologically adept
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Willing to learn new tasks as needed
